Wave Photonics offers PDK Access Deal for CORNERSTONE 2025 MPW Runs
Wave Photonics is offering a deal for all CORNERSTONE MPW runs in 2025 with access to all our CORNERSTONE PDKs for £5,000! This means with Wave Photonics’ PDK and the QPICPAC packaging solution for a CORNERSTONE MPW run, you can go from idea to packaged device in 6 months for as low as £14,550 i.e., for an MPW run for SOI passive devices with a 5.5 mm x 4.9 mm design area with single mode fibre array packaging for 1 unit, you can pay £5,000 for Wave Photonics' PDK access, £6,250 for a CORNERSTONE MPW run and £3,300 for the QPICPAC single mode fibre array packaging for 1 unit. Additional pricing for our QPICPAC packaging solution with more units and RF connection can be found here.
Wave Photonics’ PDK also works for the upcoming visible SiN CORNERSTONE process - the first of this MPW run launches in July 2025. Users can access Wave Photonics’ SiN PDK, which comprises 1056 components spanning over 33 wavelengths from 493 nm to 1550 nm. Wave Photonics’ 1056-element SiN PDK is directed at the requirements of quantum technologists working with trapped ions or atoms, quantum dots, NV centres and a whole range of quantum systems. The breadth of wavelengths on offer also makes our PDK useful for those looking to explore or work with new wavelengths for the SiN platform.
Why use our PDK
Our PDK addresses a greater number of wavelengths than any other PDK, streamlining development for applications in quantum technologies, visible-light photonics and sensing.
Performance improvement – our components are lower loss and have a smaller footprint than conventional designs – e.g. a 4x size and loss improvement for a 1x2 MMI.
Fabrication tolerance - Wafer-scale measured data from the Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult showed a 2x improvement in component performance uniformity relative to conventional inverse-designed components.
Wave Photonics’ PDKs also feature fabrication-aware scattering parameters (S-parameters) to allow full circuit simulation before taping out a chip.
The variety of components we offer significantly simplifies photonic design as photonic integrated circuits can be made by placing pre-designed building blocks together.
Our PDKs work with different EDA tools i.e., GDSFactory, Siemens’ L-Edit, Cadence’s Virtuoso and will shortly be available with Luceda Photonics’ IPKISS.
Packaging your chip is also made easier, as our PDKs are ready to use with the QPICPAC packaging template with Alter Technology and SENKO Advanced Components, and is suitable for the PHIX characterization package solution.
How to access the PDK
Our PDK website can be accessed using this link or you can get in touch with us at info@wavephotonics.com. If there is a wavelength of interest that is not present in our PDK, please let us know at info@wavephotonics.com.
