Dr Ming Zhang joins Wave Photonics’ board!

Ming will provide strategic input as Wave Photonics builds its core technology into a product to enable the photonics industry.

Wave Photonics is focused on scalable chip design.

Ming is formerly a Distinguished Architect at Synopsys as well as Co-founder and CEO of zGlue. Ming and the Wave Photonics founders were introduced via the Berkeley SkyDeck program, where he is a mentor to the Chip Track startups.

Ming brings deep technical expertise and market insights around chiplets and 3D integration to support Wave Photonics’ mission to unleash the potential of integrated photonics. We’re excited to welcome Ming to the team as Wave Photonics builds its core technology into a product and accelerates customer momentum.

Ming’s bio:

Dr. Ming Zhang is most recently Distinguished Architect at Synopsys, driving semiconductor technology strategy and new market development. Prior to Synopsys, he was co-founder and CEO of a Silicon Valley chiplet startup, zGlue. His experience at Intel and at the Samsung foundry focused on manufacturing process/circuit modeling and robust chip design. He holds a Ph.D. in EE from UIUC and a B.S. in Physics from Peking University.

He is passionate about catalyzing agility, customizability, and security of future semiconductors. He stays connected with frontier technologies and markets while advising global VCs and startups.
